Destination Kuwait: Magebit at GUST Conference

For Magebit, the beginning of 2023 was marked with two meaningful business trips to Kuwait. In mid-January, our Business Development team headed to the Land of Generosity – to prepare the ground for increased cooperation with regional companies.

While our Head of Business Development Karlis Stipnieks together with a business development manager Ralfs Rubins were building the bridges with the new clients, Magebit CEO Arturs Kruze and Head of Design Aksels Stukmanis were preparing to represent Magebit at the Gulf University for Science & Technology (GUST) press conference – as the main teaching partner for their innovative program.

About GUST

Gulf University for Science and Technology is one of the most prestigious universities in Kuwait. GUST is widely recognized for its cutting-edge, in-demand programs and dynamic learning environment that encourages creativity and critical thinking.

The university has just launched the Live Your Major program for all 13 majors – a first-of-its-kind initiative in the GCC region, designed to equip scholars with the practical skills they need to excel in their chosen fields.

Magebit was honored to be selected as the main partner for GUST's Management Information Systems (MIS) course.

Conference: promoting opportunities for future careers

From January 30th to February 3rd, Magebit had the privilege of participating in the GUST press conference in Kuwait. The conference, which saw attendance from national news outlets, government representatives, and an on-site audience of over 500 attendees, aimed to promote the all-new university program, Live Your Major.

During the conference, our dynamic duo Arturs Kruze and Aksels Stukmanis represented the company and strengthened the relationship with GUST. Notably, the project marks the first time when Magebit will train real-life skills to an actual university class, a full-on course that grants credit points.

The press conference was an amazing platform to strengthen our relationships with GUST as well as meet new people from other major companies in the GCC region. Building trust in our brand in this relationship-oriented region was a big win for us, and we're excited to see where these connections lead us in the future, – says Arturs Kruze, CEO at Magebit.

Other notable attendees at the press conference included major companies and missions from the GCC region such as the EU delegation in Kuwait, Kuwait Airways, Kuwait Finance House, Kuwait State Audit Bureau, and more.

The event was predominantly in Arabic, as the main goal of the program is to empower young specialists in the region with the skills for their success in the market.

Our contribution to the Live Your Major program

We’re excited to contribute to the program and aim to offer students both a solid theoretical base and hands-on experience in the field, enabling tomorrow's IT brilliant minds to stay current with industry trends and technological advancements.

The MIS course takes off in mid-February and will cover highly in-demand industry topics such as

• Project management,
• Data analytics,
• UX research,
• AI personalization,
• Prototype testing,
• Heatmaps,
• A/B testing, and more.

Magebit experts, including our Coding Bootcamp rockstar instructor Rihards Ratke, will be on-site, teaching students both theory and hands-on practical implementation sessions – all things trained on a real project.
