Meet Magento Italy 2026

About Meet Magento Italy 2026
Meet Magento Italy 2026 was a Magento and Adobe Commerce conference held on 11 June 2026 at Nana Bianca, the startup hub on the Lungarno Soderini in Florence, with a Mage-OS hackathon and aperitivo the day before. It was organised by Magentiamo, Italy’s Adobe Commerce and Magento community since 2014, and returned to Florence ten years after the 2016 edition. The day opened on the main stage, split into a Business Room and a Tech Room, and closed with a round table on Magento, AI and agentic commerce. Talks were in Italian and English. The full programme is on the official Meet Magento Italy website.

Talk: The Biggest Overlooked Profit Leak in eCommerce
Speaker: Rihards Ratke (Magebit), Business Room
Rihards looked at the margin merchants lose after checkout: packaging that ships “air” past carrier weight tiers, residential, fuel and remote-area surcharges that can reach 30% of a carrier invoice, mail injection and 3PL models for cheaper international last-mile delivery, and setting free-shipping thresholds at around AOV + 25% to grow basket size. Every lever improves margin without raising prices.
Team: Rihards Ratke, Valentins Kudinovs and Sanita Matule. Most sessions were in Italian and the audience stayed in the rooms, so our conversations with merchants and partners happened over coffee breaks and at the evening party.
We wrote up our recap from Florence.
Highlights
- Speed that sells. Andrea Cardinali (Performize) argued that a PageSpeed score of 90 and green Core Web Vitals do not guarantee conversions, and showed how to read Magento speed in sales terms.
- AI search. Maria Paloschi (Fattoretto Agency) asked whether stores are optimised for a search that no longer exists, and walked through optimising a Magento store for AI Overviews, conversational engines and LLMs.
- Margins over volume. Luca Baldo (Dynamica), Scaling E-commerce with Contribution Margin and Elasticity, made the case for measuring real profit with contribution margin instead of ROAS, and for scaling on net profit rather than sales volume.
- Hyvä on AI. In the Tech Room, Alessandro Ronchi (Hyvä) explained why Hyvä was not first to adopt AI and how it now uses AI to simplify development.
