About VivaTech 2023

VivaTech 2023 was a four-day technology and startup event held on 14–17 June 2023 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. Co-organised by Publicis Groupe and Groupe Les Echos-Le Parisien, the 7th edition passed 150,000 visitors for the first time, from 174 countries, with more than 450 speakers across four stages and around 2,800 exhibitors, from startups to the world’s largest tech companies. Topics ranged from generative AI to climate tech and scaling up. The full programme was on the official VivaTech website.

We went as visitors with two goals: follow the latest trends, and meet companies selling online and the providers that serve them. Talks we attended included Matthew Prince of Cloudflare, Thomas Dohmke of GitHub, Tanuja Randery of AWS EMEA and J. Michael Evans of Alibaba Group, with generative AI a recurring theme. Between sessions the expo showed delivery and nursing robots, skin-care diagnostics and new sustainable materials such as mushroom-based leather.

We came home with contacts at about five companies looking to improve their e-commerce websites, and a follow-up call with a translation solution provider interested in Magento extension development. The trip is written up on our blog: A Journey of Discovery: Magebit at VivaTechnology in Paris.
