Hyvä Developers Paradise 2026, held from April 16–18 at the Hard Rock Hotel Marbella, brought together developers, agencies, merchants, and partners from across the Magento and Hyvä ecosystem for three packed days of talks, workshops, networking, and hands-on technical sessions.
But unlike a typical ecommerce conference, the atmosphere felt much more relaxed and community-driven.
Between DevExchange discussions, product announcements, workshops, and late-night conversations with developers and the Hyvä core team, the event felt less like a formal conference and more like a collaborative meetup for people actively building the future of Magento frontend development.
For the Magebit team, it was a chance to exchange ideas, explore new technologies firsthand, and contribute to discussions around performance, scalability, AI workflows, and the future direction of Hyvä.

Day 1: The warm-up and DevExchange
Technical conversations at the Hard Rock
Our journey started on Thursday with DevExchange, one of the most community-driven parts of the entire event. Unlike a traditional conference setup filled with presentations and polished sales decks, DevExchange was all about open conversations between people actively building with Hyvä every day.
Developers, agency teams, and ecommerce specialists gathered to exchange ideas, troubleshoot real-world challenges, and share lessons from live projects.
Conversations moved naturally from complex Hyvä implementations and performance optimization to checkout customization, scalability, and the future direction of the Magento frontend ecosystem.
It felt less like a formal networking session and more like a room full of people genuinely trying to help each other build better ecommerce experiences. For the Magebit team, it was also a chance to reconnect with familiar faces from across the community and meet new contributors working on exciting projects within the Hyvä space.
Some of the most valuable insights came from these casual technical discussions rather than scheduled sessions.
Later in the evening, the atmosphere shifted from technical deep dives to a more relaxed community gathering at the official Pre-Party hosted at the Hard Rock Hotel Marbella. With music, drinks, and conversations continuing late into the evening, the event set the tone for the days ahead.
We spent the night catching up with the Hyvä core team, partners, and fellow developers, sharing ideas, discussing upcoming innovations, and reflecting on how quickly the ecosystem continues to evolve.
More than anything, the evening reinforced what makes the Hyvä community stand out: despite its rapid growth, it still feels approachable, collaborative, and tightly connected.
Day 2: The main stage and Magebit’s session

Opening keynotes and the Hyvä roadmap
Friday was the main event and easily the busiest day of the conference. The morning opened with a keynote from Hyvä Founder Willem Wigman, who shared a broader vision for where the Hyvä ecosystem is heading next and how it continues to evolve alongside modern ecommerce demands.
One of the biggest announcements was Hyvä POS (Point of Sale), a major step forward for merchants operating both online and in physical stores. The idea is simple but powerful: bringing the same lightweight, high-performance experience that Hyvä is known for on the frontend into brick-and-mortar retail environments as well.
For merchants, that means faster workflows, a more unified commerce experience, and fewer compromises between online and in-store systems.
Willem also introduced several upcoming improvements across the ecosystem, including deeper integration with Adobe Commerce services, new UI components, and developer-focused enhancements designed to speed up implementation work even further.
The overall message was clear: Hyvä is continuing to push for simpler, faster, and more scalable ecommerce development without adding unnecessary complexity.
Emīls’ Talk: The "Already Done" List

One of the standout moments for the Magebit team was seeing Emīls Malovka, our Senior Solutions Engineer and Tribe Lead Developer, take the stage with his session, “The already done list: why your next Hyvä project should start with Venta.”
Rather than focusing on theory, the talk explored a very practical challenge many development teams face: how to move faster without compromising quality. Emīls demonstrated how Venta gives Hyvä projects a strong, production-ready starting point by eliminating the need to repeatedly build common ecommerce features from scratch.
Built on real-world implementation experience, Venta provides a battle-tested foundation that allows developers to spend less time recreating standard functionality and more time focusing on the custom features and experiences that actually differentiate a brand.
For merchants, that translates into faster project delivery, smoother development workflows, and strong performance from day one — including 95+ Core Web Vitals scores out of the box.
The session sparked plenty of conversations afterward around scalability, implementation speed, and how agencies can streamline complex Hyvä builds more efficiently.
Other Hyvä insights wee took notes from

The agenda was packed with technical heavyweights from the Hyvä team. Focusing strictly on the core team's contributions, a few sessions stood out:
- Willem Wigman (Founder and CEO, Hyvä):
Willem’s opening keynote set the tone for the entire conference. The biggest announcement was undoubtedly the reveal of Hyvä POS (Point of Sale), a major step toward bringing Hyvä’s lightweight, high-performance frontend philosophy into physical retail environments. For merchants operating both online and offline, it signals a more unified and faster omnichannel experience.
- Vinai Kopp (Technical Director, Hyvä):
Vinai’s session, “Skills, agents, and Magento,” explored how AI is beginning to reshape developer workflows. Rather than replacing developers, the focus was on using AI to automate repetitive tasks, speed up development cycles, and free teams to focus more on architecture, problem-solving, and complex implementation work.
- Willem Poortman (Senior Developer, Hyvä):
Willem Poortman gave attendees an inside look at Magewire v3 and the evolving future of Hyvä Checkout. The session focused heavily on maintaining the fast, frictionless checkout experience Hyvä is known for while introducing greater flexibility and scalability for developers building advanced ecommerce experiences.
- Jeroen Boersma (Security Officer, Hyvä):
Security remained a major topic throughout the event, and Jeroen’s session on Content Security Policy (CSP) offered a practical and developer-friendly approach to implementation. He demonstrated how strong security practices within Hyvä can coexist with high performance and smooth customer experiences without unnecessary trade-offs.
- John Hughes (VP Product, Hyvä):
John walked attendees through the broader Hyvä product roadmap and ecosystem updates, connecting the dots between the various tools, services, and upcoming features. His session reinforced the direction Hyvä is taking: creating a cohesive platform that remains lightweight, scalable, and easier for agencies and merchants to manage long term.
The afternoon: Hands-on Hyvä workshops
After a networking lunch and a quick recharge, the afternoon shifted from keynote sessions to a more hands-on format with workshops led by Alessandro Ronchi and members of the Hyvä developer team.
These sessions gave attendees the opportunity to move beyond presentations and explore the technology in a much more practical way.
Developers were able to get under the hood of the newly announced Hyvä POS interface, experiment with Magewire v3 features in real time, and ask detailed technical questions directly to the people building the tools themselves.
For the Magebit team, the workshops were especially valuable because they connected the broader product vision discussed earlier in the day with actual implementation details inside the codebase.
Instead of simply hearing about future roadmaps, we could see how these features are designed to work in practice, how they improve developer workflows, and where they can create real value for merchants.
The collaborative format also made the sessions feel highly interactive. Conversations flowed naturally between attendees and the Hyvä team, with developers openly sharing implementation ideas, challenges, and feedback. It was one of the clearest examples throughout the event of how community-driven the Hyvä ecosystem continues to be.
Key takeaways for merchants
- Venta is the shortcut to success: As Emīls demonstrated, starting with a pre-optimized theme like Venta means your "to-do" list is already half finished on day one.
- Omnichannel is getting faster: With the announcement of Hyvä POS, merchants can finally expect the same sub-second performance in their physical stores as they do on their storefronts.
- AI is a productivity multiplier: Vinai Kopp’s insights prove that AI in the Hyvä world is about shipping better, more secure code in less time.
- Direct access is a shortcut to answers: Having the creators of the framework in one room means we can solve complex merchant problems in minutes.
