Meet Magento Czech 2026

About Meet Magento Czech 2026
Meet Magento Czech 2026 was a one-day Magento and Adobe Commerce conference held on Thursday, 27 August 2026 at Spojka Events in Karlín, Prague. Presented by Hashira Consulting and the Magento Association, it brought Meet Magento back to Prague after nearly a decade: one track of talks for developers, merchants, agencies and technology partners from Czechia and Central Europe, run under a no-sales policy, followed by an after-party. The programme and photos are on the official Meet Magento Czech website.
Magebit at Meet Magento Czech 2026
Partnership: Community Partner
Talk: The Already Done List: How Venta Streamlines Hyvä Development
Speaker: Rihards Ratke (Magebit)
Rihards argued that a new theme is a coordination task, not a design task, and showed what changed for real stores across Europe built on Venta, our Hyvä-based theme: in France, orders from Google search grew by over 40%, and in the UK, returning customers grew by almost half.
Team: Rihards Ratke and Valentins Kudinovs. There was no Magebit booth, so the conversations with merchants, agencies and partners happened in the breaks and at the after-party.
We wrote up our recap and takeaways from Prague.
Highlights
- Sub-100ms Magento, live. Jakub Winkler (qoliber), Loading Magento Below 100ms, Fairy Tale or Real?, demonstrated a 150,000-product store answering in under 100ms. His caveat matters for anyone planning performance work: it is real for browsing today, not yet for checkout.
- MariaDB is the new default. The MariaDB Foundation’s Anna Widenius, in The Database People Finally Showed Up, covered Adobe’s move to MariaDB as the recommended database for Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source. With MySQL 8.0 out of support since 30 April 2026, a migration belongs in every store’s next upgrade.
- AI agents inside the agency. Peter Jaap Blaakmeer (elgentos) showed AI agents preparing Magento upgrades and implementing tickets, with a person still responsible for everything that ships.
- Security. Jiří Brada (PushON), The Priority We’re Getting Wrong: Security, used research across tens of thousands of Magento stores to show AI shortening the gap between a disclosed vulnerability and its exploitation.
- A new Magento admin. Ruud van Zuidam (Siteation) presented Nebula, the admin theme built by qoliber and Siteation, and announced its 15 September release on stage.
