Shopify in Latvia with Magebit 2026

About Shopify in Latvia with Magebit 2026

Shopify in Latvia with Magebit is an evening dinner for Latvia’s e-commerce community, taking place on Thursday, 22 October 2026, from around 17:00 to 21:00 at Kolonāde, the wine restaurant at Brīvības laukums 1 in the centre of Riga. Shopify and Magebit are bringing it back for a second year.

This year the evening is organised by Magebit and Shopify with the support of the Latvian E-commerce Association (LATEKA). Around the table: Shopify representatives, the Magebit team, LATEKA members and a selected group of Latvian e-commerce businesses.

The first edition, held at Osta in October 2025, was Shopify’s first on-site event in Latvia.

Who it is for

• Latvian e-commerce businesses and the people who run them
• Merchants already selling on Shopify, and those looking at it as a way to grow and scale
• LATEKA members who want to meet the Shopify team in person

What to expect

• Time with Shopify — a chance to meet the Shopify team behind the platform.
• Merchant to merchant — swap experiences with other online stores and talk about where e-commerce in Latvia is heading.
• Your questions, answered — direct conversations with Shopify and Magebit about your own store.
• Dinner at Kolonāde — a relaxed, informal evening over dinner at one of Riga’s best-known restaurants.

The venue

Kolonāde sits in a glass pavilion in the heart of Riga, between the Freedom Monument, the Latvian National Opera and the Laima Clock, with views over the city’s canal park, a short walk from Riga’s Old Town. It is known for its seasonal menu, its wine list and its modern Latvian interior.

Magebit at the dinner

Magebit is proud to be co-hosting as a top Shopify Plus partner, helping merchants build, migrate and grow on Shopify.

The exact programme and Shopify speakers will be announced closer to the event.

About Shopify in Latvia with Magebit 2025

Shopify in Latvia with Magebit was an exclusive merchant dinner held on Wednesday, 8 October 2025, from 16:30 at Osta restaurant (Matrožu iela 15, Riga), the evening before RIGA COMM. Hosted by Shopify in partnership with Magebit, it was the first on-site Shopify event in Latvia: a private, closed-circle evening for e-commerce managers from Latvia’s largest online stores, with Shopify representatives and the Magebit team in the room. Details and the application form were published on Shopify’s official event page.

A strict no-agency policy applied — the only non-merchant attendees were Shopify and Magebit as hosts — and merchants who felt they should have been invited could apply for Shopify to review their eligibility.

Magebit at the dinner

Magebit co-hosted the evening as Shopify’s partner in the Baltics. Artūrs Krūze (CEO & co-founder), Kristaps Rjabovs (co-founder) and Nauris Mikelsons (Head of Development) attended for Magebit, alongside Shopify’s Fiona Kutay and Christopher Schmidt (Senior Account Executives) and Alex Kleine-Börger (Solutions Engineer). Magebit introduced itself with a short “Magebit in a nutshell” presentation and spent the evening talking with merchants about building, migrating and growing on Shopify. We wrote about the partnership behind the event in Leading Shopify Partner for Scaling.

Highlights

• “What’s happening at Shopify?” — Shopify’s team shared platform updates and what Shopify plans for Latvia and the Baltics.
• AI-first commerce operations — a session on the AI tooling built into Shopify stores, featuring Shopify Sidekick and Shopify Magic.
• Q&A with the hosts — Shopify and Magebit took merchants’ questions in an open Q&A.
• A room of Latvia’s largest online stores — dinner and conversation at Osta, closing with a group photo of merchants and hosts. Shopify’s Fiona Kutay later described it as Shopify’s first-ever commerce networking event in Riga.
