Capital is one of Latvia’s leading electronics retailers and an Apple Authorized Reseller, serving businesses, government institutions, and consumers since 1992. Founded as a computer equipment assembly company, Capital has grown into a full-scale technology partner with an annual turnover of approximately €40 million.

About the project
Capital’s previous website was significantly outdated and heavily limited in functionality. It struggled with large product volumes, lacked B2B features, and could not deliver accurate, real-time stock and pricing data across warehouses.
Capital needed a single platform that could support a large and complex client base, each with different pricing models and access rules. At the same time, the platform had to integrate directly with suppliers, automate manual processes, and remain fast and stable even with hundreds of thousands of SKUs.

Client Challenges
Capital’s existing ecommerce setup had reached its limits. The site was outdated, slow, and simply not built for the way Capital’s business had evolved.
Key challenges included:
- No real B2B functionality on the website, despite a growing customer base
- Poor performance when handling large product volumes
- The need for a single platform that could serve both B2C and B2B users, each with very different expectations
- Limited flexibility in the Admin Panel, making everyday management slow and manual
- Different user types requiring tailored experiences across registration, accounts, product views, checkout, and emails
- Tender and compliance requirements that the existing solution could not fully support
- Heavy reliance on manual processes that need automation
- Compatibility issues with government regulations, critical for Capital’s public-sector work


The role of Magebit

Magebit worked closely with Capital to rebuild their ecommerce platform in a way that fits how the business operates today. The goal was simple: replace an outdated setup with a fast, reliable system that could handle a huge catalog and complex B2B pricing.

We created a tailored B2B environment that removes friction from registration to reorder. Company validation is faster, shared addresses simplify repeat purchases, and checkout dynamically adapts payment and shipping options by customer type. - Ready for today, prepared for tomorrow
Reusable CMS structures and an improved admin experience make complex content easier to manage. On the infrastructure side, Magebit helped implement a custom on-premises setup to keep long-term growth cost-efficient. Advanced B2B capabilities were strengthened with Aheadworks B2B Suite and Aheadworks OneStep Checkout, fully aligned with Hyvä’s performance model.
