Nefro Klīnika is a leading nephrology treatment provider in Latvia, specializing in kidney replacement therapy, including hemodialysis and hemodiafiltration. Since its founding in 1991, the clinic has grown into a nationwide network of 11 locations, serving 20% of Latvia’s nephrology patients.

About the project
Unlike hospital-affiliated centers like Gaiļezers Hospital, a Riga East Clinical University Hospital branch, Nefro Clinic aimed to be a modern, independent provider. However, similar legal names caused confusion, making a clear visual identity essential to reinforce their values and independence.



Client Challenges
Nefro Clinic faced several challenges that hindered its ability to establish a strong, independent identity and provide a consistent patient experience.
- Similar legal naming conventions led to frequent misidentification with Gaiļezers Hospital, impacting brand recognition.
- The previous branding lacked warmth and professionalism, making it less inviting for patients.
- The absence of a brand book led to inconsistencies across locations, reducing brand cohesion and trust.
- The old red-dominant color scheme evoked unpleasant medical associations related to blood, affecting patient perception and sometimes evoking fear.
