Snap-on Business Solutions (SBS) is a division of Snap-on Incorporated, a multi-billion company with over a century of experience. SBS provides solutions like electronic parts catalogs, diagnostic tools, and e-commerce platforms used by top-tier automotive brands such as Ford, Toyota, and Harley Davidson. However, SBS's legacy website was unable to meet industry standards, prompting a migration to Adobe Commerce for better scalability, security, and UX.

About the project

Snap-on Business Solutions required a scalable and secure platform to support its global operations. While highly complex and high-stakes, the project focused on consolidating four Magento instances into one, enhancing multi-brand management, and improving checkout and backend operations to meet enterprise-level requirements.

Snap-on Business Solutions faced numerous challenges before partnering with Magebit. Their outdated Magento 1 Enterprise platform lacked scalability and was resource-intensive. The need for managing multiple brands, improving UX, and streamlining global catalog and payment systems required a robust and modern e-commerce solution. Additionally, stringent security requirements and complex infrastructure posed significant hurdles for maintaining peak performance under high traffic.

Snap-on Business Solutions partnered with Magebit to modernize its B2B platform and unify global operations. By leveraging Adobe Commerce, we delivered a scalable, high-performance solution tailored to their complex requirements.

  • Unified platform migration
    Consolidated four Magento instances into a single Adobe Commerce B2B platform, simplifying management and reducing operational costs.
  • Multi-brand functionality
    Enabled unique branding, catalogs, and pricing for each client, creating tailored experiences for global customers (major players in the industry that cannot be disclosed as they are immediately recognizable).
  • Enhanced checkout features
    Introduced VAT validation, address restrictions, and advanced tax mapping to improve global compliance and customer satisfaction. While this seems simple, the automotive industry and business specifics of Snap-on Business Solutions had very complex requirements that we managed to implement with ease.
  • Scalable infrastructure
    Designed an AWS auto-scaling and auto-healing architecture to handle high traffic while maintaining robust security and performance. Including proper disaster recovery preparation and much more. This involved also working with Adobe's dedicated partner manager which they had multiple for this size of a client.
